Mental Health Court Support Services
Simcoe County Mental Health Court Support Services is part of CMHA's Human Services Justice System program. Court support services are designed to assist people 16 years of age or older with mental health / developmental needs who become involved with the criminal justice system.
Services Offered:
- Court Diversion - a voluntary pre-trial procedure that allows persons accused of minor criminal offences to be directed away from the criminal justice system
- Consultation, support and education to clients, families, service providers and justice system personnel
- Referrals to other community resources and coordination of support
- A range of recovery focused case management services including life skills development, supportive counselling, coping strategies, assistance meeting basic needs, crisis prevention, intervention and management
Eligibility for Court Support Services:
Individuals who are residents of Simcoe County who are 16 years of age or older with mental health and/or developmental needs who become involved with the criminal justice system. Court Diversion is for people who do not pose a risk to public safety. Individual must be approved for diversion by Crown and CMHA.
Hours: 9am-5pm Mon-Fri
